The New York Fall 15 young women’s shows had a lot of 70’s flavor both in a bohemian esthetic and a more heritage preppy feeling. Rebecca Minkoff’s bring in this collection two-piece sweater sets were a modern and youthful addition while a burnt orange suede mini with cutout shoulders had late 60’s sex appeal. Tommy Hilfiger’s collegiate themed show brought football and the best of 70’s tweets together. Mara Hoffman showed an earthy collection that mixed fluffy fringe with kaleidoscopic prints. Teddy bear fur worn over a locker room ensemble and dresses with scarf hems were fancier details that elevated Lacoste’s usual preppiness. Mixed striping and playful sweatbands set the perfect old-school tone and celebrated the cult classic, The Royal Tenenbaums. Phillip Lim was true to his downtown girl and brought vintage flare in the tartans. On the other end of decade based trends we had Alexander Wang’s goth cyberpunk collection, reviving 90’s club kid memories.
