Lonely Dot
Los Angeles-based photographer Janell Shirtcliff began Lonely Dot as a passion project for her insatiable love of vintage clothing. While operating exclusively as an online shop, Janell incorporated a designed line pulling inspiration from retro. The brand’s Buy a Ticket concept acts as a visual travel diary of Janell and her friends (think Mia Moretti and Kimberley Gordon) exploring the world for new pieces and aids in attracting an online following.
Vintage and new clothes curated with love.

Ryder
There is an unpretentious and the nonchalant quality to the Ryder label, founded in 2012 by designer Penny Brown. While the line was established in Melbourne, Penny admits the brand is well-suited to a US consumer, with preppy plaids and heritage appeal. Urban Outfitters was one of the first US retailers to show interest in stocking Ryder, debuting its winter collection in stores last August.
